Dr Zeeshan Arain

M.B.B.S, M.P.H.T.M, F.R.A.C.G.P.

I began my medical journey when I graduated from Monash University in 2003. Over this time, I have come to enjoy all aspects of medicine including general practice, dealing with the mental health of patients, weight loss, and preventative medicine. I believe the roles of proper nutrition, exercise, stress management and adequate sleep are paramount in the prevention and treatment of most chronic diseases seen in medical practice.

I am also very experienced in Sports Medicine. I have worked for several organisations and teams over the years including being the head doctor for the Melbourne Demons AFL club from 2013 to 2020. I have a particular interest in the effects of concussion having worked for four years at the AFL in concussion research. Currently, I work at NRL club, the Melbourne Storm as the assistant doctor.

I have previously worked as a medical educator at Monash University from 2016 to 2017. I have also worked in a range of different roles during the COVID pandemic including telehealth services for COVID patients and at a COVID screening clinic.

In addition to my work at Healthcare on Collins I also work one day a week in an hospital emergency department and one day per month with foot and ankle specialist Mr. Otis Wang.

My basic philosophy of life is to practice what I preach and so when not at work my interests include eating well, cycling, running and picking up the odd heavy weight!
