Dr Howard Goldenberg
Commenced at Midtown Medical Clinic in July 2000.
Areas of special interest:
- All aspects of General Medicine
- Mental Health
Howard was born into a medical household in the small Riverina town of Leeton. His father was one of those legendary country doctors who could do everything – and did. His father honoured his work, and the town honoured him with trust. Howard grew up inspired by the honour of being a doctor.
At Monash Medical School Howard was taught the discipline of Community and Preventative Medicine. Monash Medical School pioneered the placement of its students for a term in General Practice. Howard came to love the Medicine of Family, Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Mental Health. He trained in Obstetrics, then turned to his passion, General Practice.
Since entering General Practice in 1972, Howard has worked in country towns, from Diamond Creek (29 years) to Halls Creek, in remote Aboriginal communities, in villages all around Australia, in Christmas Island Detention Centre, in the gaol in Alice Springs and at nights from his study as District Medical Officer for Central Australia. For the past 10 years Howard has worked 15 hours a week in the GP clinic at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
In 2000 Howard joined Midtown Medical Clinic. Having worked in over sixty different practices around the country Howard says he is proud to find himself here, working in by far the finest clinic he has known.
He has seen how his colleagues here, from the GP’s to the ancillary clinicians, to the reception and management staff, have gained and maintained the loyalty of thousands who attend Midtown Medical Clinic.
Howard is available for consultation at Midtown Medical Clinic Monday to Thursday and is also able to consult in Hebrew if required.
