Christina has worked over 32 years in the Health Industry. Her first job was working for a GP in South Melbourne for 11 years as Receptionist and Personal Assistant.
She came to The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre in 1998 when it was originally located in the Manchester Unity Building on the corner of Swanston and Collins Streets; and has been working here a total of 21 years with maternity leave breaks in between. She has, with her husband Mark, a daughter Angelle, and son Nicholas.
Christina has been an integral part of the growth of The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre which began with less than half the number of GP’s and Allied Health practitioners that we currently have.
When the Practice moved to 250 Collins in the Year 2000 Christina was pivotal in the process and organisation of the office and reception area, ensuring a smooth transition for both staff and our patients.
She assisted in the implementation and successful achievement of Accreditation of the practice in 2001 when Accreditation was a relatively a new concept for medical practices in Australia.
She was promoted to Assistant Practice Manager role in 2012 and since then has been invaluable to the Practice Manager, stepping in and ably running the Practice if required, and going above and beyond in assisting in all areas of the administrative duties at any hour of the day or in some cases, night.
Christina knows everything there is to know about our practice and is a wealth of information for both our staff and our patients. We would be lost without her!
Her fluency in the Greek language makes her popular with our Greek patients, but is also a favourite with our many loyal longstanding patients.
Outside of work, Christina enjoys camping, spending time with her family and is a ‘forced’ Richmond Supporter.
