Nutrition & Dietetics
Consulting a Dietitian is suitable for anyone who wishes to improve their health and nutrition through food and lifestyle change.
When faced with illness or a specific health concern, sorting through complex information and advice about diet can require specialist help. Living in a society currently focused on health means that there can be many conflicting messages about food in the media. A Dietitian can help you understand the basics of food and nutrition so you are better able to decipher the truth. A Dietitian is University trained and is registered with the Dietitians Association of Australia as an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist.
Food and eating are an enjoyable part of daily life. Accredited Practising Dietitians recognise this and can help you make realistic and sustainable changes for a healthy lifestyle and to maximise sports performance.
Consultations are available for individuals, couples and families. Initial individual dietary consultations are 60 minutes, review consultations are either 30 or 60 minutes. Body Composition Analysis and individualised meal plans can also be provided by our Sports Dietitians, Emily Commerford. Emily has completed additional training in the area of Sports Nutrition and can provide dietary and nutrition advice to help you achieve your sporting goals, whatever level of sport you participate in. Review consultations are designed to check your progress. Your food and exercise behaviour is re-examined, and only if desired or appropriate your weight and/or body composition reassessed and additional changes recommended. Review consultations are usually two to four weeks apart and the number of consultations you have is entirely up to you.
