Several of our Physiotherapists conduct group exercise classes for injury rehabilitation and prevention in our clinically supervised gym. These sessions involve clinically appropriate exercises using a combination of gym and Pilates equipment. Some exercises incorporate techniques based on Pilates principles.
The clinical Pilates component of these classes uses reformer -based spring resistance, combined with a series of floor exercises.
The aim is to improve the stability of the spine and therefore control pain and enhance musculoskeletal function.
Other equipment incorporated may be the physio ball, magic circle, roller or small Pilates balls. We use direction-specific, non-impact movements to enable you to engage in pain-free exercises.
The classes are particularly effective when used in combination with physiotherapy to optimise your recovery from injury and prevent further injury.
Classes are most beneficial pre and post orthopaedic surgery to maximise your outcome and speed up your return to activity and sport. The classes aim to reduce musculoskeletal pain by strengthening and retraining your core. Increasing the strength and control of stabilisation muscles around the spine helps support your posture and reduces the risk of re-injury.
Our Physiotherapists will first assess you to determine the appropriate exercise regime for you and will then formulate and tailor a program specific to your personal goals and capacity.
When you are assessed as being ready, you may then join the small group class with up to 3 participants, alternatively you can continue with individual exercise supervision.
For most people who do join the small group classes it is recommended to attend once to twice per week to help ensure goals are reached within an appropriate time frame. After 10 sessions, a 30 minute one on one Physiotherapy session is conducted to thoroughly assess your progress, redesign your program if required and set new goals. You may then continue with more classes or move onto more independent exercising if your goals have been reached.
You may also be provided with a home exercise program.

Our classes are run at 7am, 8am, 10am, 12.15pm, 4.30pm and 5.15 pm on selected weekdays, 8am, 9.00am and 10.00am on Saturdays.

Please note that 24 hours is required for pilates appointment cancellation or a cancellation fee will apply. Your punctual attendance is also appreciated to ensure you receive your full treatment or class time.
Whether it be 1:1 or small group classes, please note that comfortable exercise clothing should be worn. Grip socks must also be worn to help ensure your safety on the pilates equipment. Grip socks can be purchased from reception.
The fee for the 1:1 sessions will range between $102.00 and $120.00 depending on the length of the appointment. Group classes are $50.00, $45.00 when a ‘pack’ of 10 classes is purchased.
