During this time of heightened community concern regarding COVID-19 The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre is adapting in order to keep looking after the health of our patients.  All of our practitioners are still available for face to face consultations. Phone or video consultations are also available if either you or your practitioner are unable to attend the practice as per usual.    Here is some more information about our phone and video consultations.

We will also be keeping you up to date with Coronavirus information. We will regularly post information on our Facebook page, and also on our website under our Latest Information tab. You may also call us if you have any questions about the suitability of making an appointment or if you have any questions.  Our dedicated administration team is here to help.

When making an appointment we have strong triage (medical screening) practices in place. We will ask you a series of questions if you would like to book a face to face consultation. If you have cold or flu like symptoms we may request to make a phone consultation first to discuss your symptoms and medical history with your doctor to help us determine if a face to face consultation is required.  If a face to face consultation is arranged we will take some additional precautions such as providing you with a mask and have you seated in an isolated waiting area. This is to further protect you, our staff and other patients.  We’re here to help.

We do ask that you delay attending the practice for allied health consultations (physiotherapy, myotherapy, remedial massage, podiatry, exercise physiology, nutrition and dietetics) until any of your cold or flu symptoms have resolved. We are of course happy to discuss this with you if you have any concerns.

Our infection control practices are exemplary, and we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our clinic. It is our top priority to protect our patients and staff, keeping our practice clean and well sanitised at all times. Enhanced cleaning and wiping down measures are now taken throughout the day, especially of treatment facilities and equipment.

We ask that all patients make use of the hand sanitation or hand washing facilities that are available on entering the clinic. Also, that if possible, you bring along your own shorts or other athletic clothing if they are required for your appointment.

Please be assured we are closely monitoring the ongoing situation surrounding COVID-19 and are strictly following the advice of the Department of Health and Human Services.
