During this time of heightened community concern regarding COVID-19, The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre is adapting in order to keep looking after the health of our patients. Amongst other changes, our Practitioners are now offering phone/video (Telehealth) consultations. Several Practitioners also continue to provide in person consultations.
We will be keeping you up to date with COVID-19 information. We will regularly post information on our Facebook page and also on our website under the Latest Information tab. You may also call us if you have any questions. Our dedicated Administration team are here to help.
Our infection control practices are exemplary and we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our clinic. It is our top priority to protect our patients and staff, keeping our practice clean and well sanitised. Enhanced cleaning, sanitisation and hygiene measures are regularly taken throughout the clinic and between consultations.
We have rearranged our waiting room to help maintain social distancing and have limited the number of Practitioners and patients in attendance at any one time. Please try to avoid arriving particularly early for your appointment and only bring along others when necessary.
We ask that all patients make use of the hand sanitation or hand washing facilities that are available on entering and exiting the clinic.
Please be assured we are closely monitoring the ongoing situation surrounding COVID-19 and are strictly following the advice of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Sports Doctors & General Practitioners
All of our medical Practitioners are available for Telehealth consultations. The majority of our medical Practitioners are available for in person consultations. However, if your regular Practitioner is currently unable to offer in room consultations and you would prefer an in room consultation, please contact our Administration team to discuss who would be the most suitable Practitioner for you to see.

Allied Health Practitioners
Our Allied Health team of Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Dietitians/Nutritionists and Myotherapists/Remedial Massage Therapists are also offering Telehealth consultations.
Many private health funds are offering a rebate for Physiotherapy Telehealth consultations. Please contact your private health fund regarding the rebates available to you.
Several of our Allied Health Practitioners are continuing to provide consultations in person at the clinic. Please book online or contact us to discuss the appointment that is best suited to you and your condition.
To help maintain social distancing, our Physiotherapy Exercise Classes are currently running on slightly reduced capacity (between 2 and 3 participants depending on the time of the class). The Department of Health has recently released the COVIDSafe app. This app speeds up contacting people exposed to COVID-19. This helps support and protect you, your loved ones and our community. Our Medical and Allied Health Practirioners fully support the use of COVIDSafe.
