Centre Information

Pathology Results:

If your Doctor sends you for any pathology for example blood tests, cervical screening or biopsies,  it is preferable that you make a review appointment to discuss your results.

This helps to ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of your health.

Alternatively, unless your Doctor advises otherwise, you may ring the clinic one week after your tests to find out the results. Reception staff will pass on the message your Doctor has left you regarding this result.

If the results are normal you will be told so.

If there is something your Doctor wishes to discuss with you, you will be asked to make an appointment to discuss the results.

If you wish to discuss your results, even if they are normal, to ensure optimal medical care and understanding of your health, you will be asked to make an appointment.

If you are not returning to discuss your pathology results, it is essential that you exercise your responsibility to call us to act as a double check that your result has been processed and seen by your Doctor.

Radiology Results (x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI):

If your Doctor sends you for any radiology, unless advised otherwise, you will be asked to return to discuss your results.

Abnormal results will require a management plan to be established, normal results often mean additional testing will be required.

If your Physiotherapist or Podiatrist sends you for radiology, it is also preferable that you return to discuss your results.  Alternatively, unless your practitioner has advised otherwise, you may ring the clinic two days after your test to find out the results.

If you are not returning to discuss your radiology result, it is essential that you exercise your responsibility to call us to act as a double check that your result has been processed and seen by your practitioner.

Please note that in all cases, if any pathology or radiology result indicates a need for urgent review, you will be contacted by your practitioner or one of our nursing or administrative staff as soon as the result is viewed.
