Roger Moore

Roger graduated from the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences in 1982.

Roger worked at the Austin Hospital for 2 years before establishing 3 private Practices in the city, and Northern Suburbs.

He has worked as a physiotherapist for the AFL Kangaroos Football Club since 1989. His areas of interest include, fast track recovery for sports injuries, including shoulder and knee rehabilitation, particularly with footballers.

He works closely with personal trainers and weights coaches to assist in this process.

 


 

Gordon McDonald

Gordon graduated from Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences in 1982. 

He worked as a Graduate Physiotherapist at Box Hill Hospital and in Private Practice in Templestowe until 1985. He then established his own Practices in the suburbs and city with Roger Moore. 

The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre is now their full time Practice in conjunction with working at the North Melbourne Kangaroos for the last 20 years.

Gordon has a wealth of experience in both occupational and sporting musculoskeletal problems. 

Gordon is a family man with 3 active girls.  He is a keen runner who participates in fun runs, half and full marathons.

 

 


 

Simon Nelson

Simon graduated in 1986 from the Lincoln Institute with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. He has since worked in a number of hospitals and clinics in Melbourne and London. He has also worked at Monash University's Sports Medicine Centre. Simon completed a Graduate Diploma in Ergonomics at Latrobe University in 1991 and has been Physiotherapist to the Carlton Football Club since 1994.

Sophie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1995 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons). She has worked interstate and in the UK with extensive experience in rehabilitation.

Sophie has worked with a variety of sporting teams including football, rugby, netball and water polo, and has an interest in aquatics.

Sophie completed her Master of Physiotherapy (Sports) in 2005 and was awarded the Sports Physiotherapy Australia Prize. 

Sophie also has research experience with core stability and arthritis, and was published in 2007 in the journal 'Physical Therapy'.  She has also completed some training in Clinical Pilates.

 


 

Gemma Meaney

Gemma graduated from Curtain University in Perth in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) following a Human Movement Degree and Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation.  She initially worked in the Pilbara Region before changing to Perth private clinics. 

Since relocating to Melbourne, Gemma has a strong interest in Clinical Pilates.  She is passionate about exercise rehabilitation and has been involved in many sports either as a Physiotherapist or participant in Football, running, swimming, weight training and trampolining.

Currently Gemma is competing in the Summer Open Water Swim Series.  She also instructs Body Pump and enjoys terrorising motorists on her new motorbike.

 


 

Natasha Hogan 

Graduation Honors:
University of Melbourne (Physiotherapy)
Working for Tennis Australia at National and International tournaments

Natasha graduated from Melbourne University in 1997.

She has participated in a wide variety of sports and is a keen runner.  She competed in the Noosa Triathlon in 2007. 

Natasha is passionate about AFL and has worked with the North Melbourne Football Club (Kangaroos) for the past three years.

She has a Diploma of myofascial therapy and dry needling which she finds complements the management of injuries which plague runners and triathletes.

Natasha has also worked in specialist hand and upper limb injury clinics.

 


 

Liana Cope

Liana graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2003. She has had the pleasure of working in sports based practices in South Australia and Queensland as well as Victoria.

In 2005-2006 Liana was involved with the Australian Volley Ball League team in Adelaide and is now working with the Melbourne team. She also travelled to Bangkok in 2007 with the Australian University Games team.

Liana’s particular areas of interests include spinal conditions, shoulder and knee problems. Liana uses needling and Clinical Pilates as well as manual techniques in her treatment of conditions.

 


 

Jesse Adams

Jesse qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2001 after which he spent 3 years working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide gaining experience in orthopaedics, general rehabilitation and hand therapy.

He furthered his physiotherapy knowledge and qualified as an APA Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapist following completion of post graduate studies in 2005.

He has had experience working in various private Practices around Australia and working with Hockey South Australia, Hockey Victoria and Softball Australia.

He worked as a Sports Physiotherapist at the polyclinic for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and recently toured with the Australian University Team to the World University Games.

His special interests include sporting injuries, particularly pelvic, shoulder and orthopaedic problems

 


 

Melanie Omizzolo

Melanie graduated from La Trobe University in 2000 and completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne in 2004. She is currently finishing a Clinical Doctorate in Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne, completing her thesis on the assessment of trunk stability.

Melanie has worked in a number of private practices in Melbourne, all with an emphasis on Sports Medicine. She has also worked with post-operative patients in Private Hospitals and was previously the Physiotherapist at Box Hill Hawks Football Club in the VFL for five years. She has been working as a core contractor with the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in International Womens Tennis for the past three years where she been a Physiotherapist working with elite Tennis players all over the world, including working at Wimbledon, The French and Australian Opens. She was also the Australian Fed Cup Team Physiotherapist for their International ties in 2007 and 2008. Melanie has a particular interest in trunk and pelvis stability, shoulder and knee injuries.
