Often more complicated systemic conditions such as diabetes and arthritis can have implications on the circulatory and neurological health of one’s feet and can also affect general mobility. In the young, developmental anomalies such as flat feet, knock knee, pigeon toe and postural alignment issues can interfere with comfortable growth and activity. In all these cases, podiatry can play an important role in providing relief and preventing long term complications.
The sports person, whether amateur or elite, knows only too well the ongoing challenge of managing musculo-skeletal injury and pain whilst trying to achieve greater results in their chosen discipline. An experienced podiatrist as part of a sports medicine team can assist in achieving an efficient, pain free and well-aligned gait to minimise injury and maximise performance through rehabilitation, orthotic prescription and footwear advice. As this is a strong component of our practice, The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre also offers video gait analysis for both walking and running, as well as bike set-up for cycling and triathlon.
Initial podiatry consultations are of 40 minutes duration. During this time your podiatrist will fully assess your condition and design and implement a treatment plan. Review consultations are of 20 minutes duration.
For appointments or to have any queries regarding podiatry answered, please phone 9650 9372. Please note that 24 hours is required for appointment cancellation or a cancellation fee may apply. Your punctual attendance is also appreciated to ensure you receive your full treatment time. Should you arrive late for your appointment your practitioner will do their best to provide you with your full treatment time but in some situations appointments will need to be rescheduled or treatment time reduced.
