Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiologists are University Degree qualified Allied Health Professionals. They specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries.  Exercise Physiologists gain accreditation through Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).  Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP's) are required to abide by a strict code of practice and participate in Continuing Education to retain their accreditation.

Exercise Physiologist can help with back pain, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, balance problems, stroke recovery, deconditioning, pre & post orthopaedic surgery, cardiovascular disease, workplace injuries, weight problems, sports injuries.

Our Exercise Physiologist will design an individual exercise program to help you meet your goals, supervise each session if required or desired, assess progress and modify your program as required.

One hour initial assessments are conducted here at The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre, each exercise session is then completed off site, at a location convenient to both yourself and your Exercise Physiologist.  One hour reassessments are conducted at The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre at a frequency recommended by your Exercise Physiologist.

Exercise Physiology consultations are often covered under Private Health Insurance.  Please check with your  private insurer to see if you are covered.  Should you have a chronic health condition for which Exercise Physiology would be of benefit, you may qualify for a rebate under a Medicare Team Care Arrangement.  Please consult your General Practitioner if this applies to you.
