  Sophie Heywood
B.Physio(Hons), Master Physio(Sports), Cert Hydro (UK)

Sophie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1995 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.  She has worked interstate and in the UK with extensive experience in rehabilitation.

Sophie has worked with a variety of sporting teams including football, rugby, netball and water polo, and has a special interest in aquatics.  Sophie has worked part time at the Carlton Football Club since 2007.

Sophie completed her Master of Physiotherapy (Sports) in 2005 and was awarded the Sports Physiotherapy Australia Prize.

Sophie also has research experience with core stability and arthritis, and was published in 2007 in the journal 'Physical Therapy'.  She has also completed some further education in Clinical Pilates and Dry Needling.

In 2008 Sophie was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to Europe and the USA to further investigate innovations in Aquatic Physiotherapy.  She also does some lecturing and practical work through Australian Physiotherapy Association courses and at Monash University and the University of Melbourne.
